Just 10 minutes from the resort, Saint-Jean-de-Monts boasts 8 km of fine sandy beaches, over 500 hectares of forest, and a freshwater marsh: an exceptional natural setting for a family vacation. The Passage du Gois, a one-of-a-kind experience

The Passage du Gois is a causeway approximately 4.2 km long that connects Beauvoir-sur-Mer to the island of Noirmoutier at low tide. Recognized since 2017 as a Site of National and Cultural Heritage, it is now seeking designation as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Cross it by car, bike, or on foot, but be sure to check the tide schedules before setting out. Shore fishing, clams, and cockles: a wonderful family outing in nature.

Noirmoutier Island – The Island of Mimosas

Accessible via the Passage du Gois or the bridge from Fromentine,the island of Noirmoutier enchants visitors with its pristine beaches, salt marshes, blooming mimosas, and its castle, designated a Historic Monument. The Vendée Breton Marshes

Located between the Vendée and Loire-Atlantique regions, the Marais Breton Vendéen unfolds its 45,000 hectares of wetlands, shaped by centuries of interaction between humans and nature. A unique region to explore around Saint-Gervais, among canals, meadows, and island villages.

Kulmino – The Vendée from above

Kulmino, located in Notre-Dame-de-Monts, is a former water tower that has been converted into a unique observation deck, offering a panoramic view from 70 meters above the marsh, dunes, forest, and islands. A dizzying and memorable stop.

Sallertaine is an “island village” designated as a “Ville et Métiers d’Art” (City of Art and Crafts), featuring a Romanesque church and artisan workshops. Potters, painters, sculptors… A cultural and artisanal stop you won’t want to miss during your visit to Saint-Gervais.

Just 15 minutes from the estate, Challans is the hub of the Vendée marshes. Its traditional markets—including the famous Challans Fair, held two Thursdays a month—make it a lively destination for food lovers. Shops, restaurants, and entertainment: it has it all.

Situated across from the island, Beauvoir-sur-Mer is the starting point of the Passage du Gois on the mainland side. Its harbor, its views of Bourgneuf Bay, and its market make it a pleasant stop before or after the crossing.

The Vélodyssée —one of Europe’s most scenic cycling routes—runs right past Domaine Les Épinettes. Hundreds of kilometers of marked trails along the Atlantic coast are accessible from your accommodation thanks to our bike rental service.

With over 170 km of bike paths and 120 km of hiking trails in the Saint-Jean-de-Monts region, There are many local loops suitable for all skill levels. Signposted trails wind through marshes, forests, and villages—ask for information at the resort’s front desk.

Cycling across the Passage du Gois and then touring the island of Noirmoutier on its well-maintained bike paths: an unforgettable day. The island’s flat terrain makes it accessible to everyone, even the youngest cyclists.

Nature and Outdoor Activities

Even before leaving the estate, fishing enthusiasts can cast their lines in our private pond. But the region is also full of outstanding spots: shore fishing at the Passage du Gois, deep-sea fishing from the ports of the Vendée… Ask at the front desk for local tips.

Less than an hour and a half from the estate, Puy du Fou is an experience like no other. Voted the best theme park in the world, it offers spectacular shows that bring French history to life in breathtaking period settings. In the evening, the Cinéscénie brings together 2,400 volunteer actors for a 1 hour 40 minute sound-and-light show—the only one of its kind in the world. An unforgettable day for the whole family.
